Community Impact
The Fort Bliss Spouses’ Association is dedicated to supporting our local community. We do this by awarding community outreach grants to qualifying organizations, and providing educational scholarships to traditional, continuing education, and vocational students.
Funds to support these programs are raised directly through proceeds of the Fort Bliss Thrift Shop and fundraisers such as the Tree & Wreath Auction, Flocking, and the Tour of Homes.
In addition, we extend our charitable outreach by highlighting an eligible organization at our monthly luncheon event, and collect items that are an immediate need.
We give back directly to our military community through Operation Deploy Your Dress, a free opportunity for military spouses to secure secondhand formal gowns.
Philanthropic Programs
Our community grants program allows us to not only provide resources to eligible Fort Bliss organizations, but also those eligible organizations that serve the entire El Paso community. By supporting these organizations, the FBSA is able to multiply our reach and impact on the greater community.
Merit-based Scholarships
Our scholarships are awarded to applying members and their local, immediate family members to help provide secondary and vocational education opportunities. In this way, we invest in our members and prepare them for a brighter future.
Charitable Outreach
Operation Deploy Your Dress (ODYD)
Our charitable outreach program chooses a local organization to highlight each month of our board year. As an association, FBSA members collect needed items to donate to the organization to help fill their immediate needs.
ODYD provides free evening wear and accessories to U.S. Military I.D. cardholders in order to defray the costs of attending military balls and galas while still maintaining these rich traditions.
